Job Description

Join Coffman Engineers as a Piping Designer and help shape innovative engineering solutions.

We are looking for an experienced Piping Designer with five or more years of design experience to join our expanding Denver office. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of engineers and designers while contributing to a diverse range of challenging projects.

In this role, you will lead the preparation and development of mechanical design packages and detailed engineering drawings. Depending on project needs, you may also serve as the CAD Lead, coordinating multidisciplinary design efforts and ensuring the successful delivery of integrated engineering solutions.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who can interpret project requirements and produce high-quality drawings that align with client standards, project specifications, design criteria, applicable codes, and industry best practices. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering accurate, complete, and timely project documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a certified CAD training program or a Technical/degree in engineering or related field (preferred).
• 5 or more years of progressive experience in AutoCAD and 3D piping software (preferred) for mechanical piping design.
• Proficiency in:
  • 3D piping design software.
  • Leading design and drawing package development on multidiscipline projects.
  • Setting up new projects utilizing the AutoCAD sheet set manager (preferred), template files and dynamic referencing.
  • Coordinating with clients and outside design team members on drafting standards and file exchanges.
  • Coordinating design submittals. You will publish drawings in multiple formats and deliver or upload digital files to clients.
  • Providing quality assurance of final design packages and upload into client document management systems.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed.

 

This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

The expected annual salary for this position is $85,000 - $100,000.
