Position Summary
The Drupal Web Developer is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications and digital platforms built on the latest versions of Drupal (Drupal 9/10/11). This role ensures high‑quality, secure, scalable, and user‑centered digital experiences that support organizational goals. The developer collaborates closely with designers, content teams, product owners, and IT leadership to deliver modern, accessible, and high‑performing web solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Drupal Development & Architecture
- Develop, configure, and maintain websites using the latest versions of Drupal (9/10/11).
- Build custom modules, themes, and integrations following Drupal best practices.
- Implement and maintain content types, views, taxonomies, blocks, and menus.
- Ensure code quality through version control, peer reviews, and adherence to coding standards (Drupal Coding Standards, PSR‑4, Composer workflows).
Site Maintenance & Enhancements
- Perform regular updates, security patches, and module upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and resolve site issues, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility problems.
- Optimize websites for speed, accessibility (WCAG 2.1+), SEO, and mobile responsiveness.
- Maintain documentation for configurations, custom code, and deployment processes.
Integration & API Development
- Build and maintain integrations with third‑party systems (REST, API, GraphQL, SSO, CRM, payment gateways, etc.).
- Work with cloud hosting environments (Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Azure) to deploy and manage Drupal applications.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
Collaboration & Project Support
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement modern, user‑friendly interfaces.
- Partner with content editors to improve workflows, permissions, and editorial experience.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives).
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5+ years of experience developing with Drupal (including Drupal 9/10/11).
- Strong proficiency in PHP, Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design.
- Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, and modern development workflows.
- Knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB and database optimization.
- Experience with cloud hosting platforms (Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, Azure).
- Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG), security best practices, and performance optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with headless or decoupled Drupal architectures.
- Familiarity with React, Vue, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience with Docker or containerized development environments.
- Acquia Drupal Developer or Site Builder certification.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of overall IT industry experience.
- At least 6 years of experience troubleshooting and resolving production issues related to software applications.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience with Composer, Drush, Git, and modern development workflows.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG), security best practices, and website performance optimization techniques.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working with cloud hosting platforms such as Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web design principles.
- Experience with MySQL/MariaDB database management and optimization.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Minimum of 3 years of Drupal development experience, including Drupal 9, 10, and/or 11.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments is highly desired.
- Acquia Drupal Developer or Site Builder certification is highly desired.
- Experience with Docker or other containerized development environments is required.
