Job Title: Journeyman Electrician – 2nd Shift (Facilities Maintenance)

Location: General Motors Tonawanda Engine Plant
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, with 4 out of every 6 Saturdays required (rotating 6-week Saturday schedule)
Pay Rate: $41.24/hr, increasing to $43.61/hr after 90 days

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to support facilities maintenance operations within a large industrial environment on 2nd shift at the General Motors Tonawanda Engine Plant. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations.

Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues involving facility systems and production equipment
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including panels, motors, drives, and control systems
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
Support facility infrastructure, including lighting, power distribution, and building systems
Work with PLCs, VFDs, and automated equipment as needed
Respond to emergency maintenance calls to minimize downtime
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards
Document maintenance activities, repairs, and work orders within CMMS systems
Collaborate with maintenance team members and other skilled trades as needed
Qualifications
Valid Journeyman Electrician license
Minimum 3 years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience preferred
Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical systems up to 480V
Experience troubleshooting PLC systems (Allen-Bradley preferred) is a plus
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
Familiarity with CMMS systems such as Maximo preferred
Strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in an industrial environment, including heights and confined spaces as needed
